About... Ben Granfelt Band
Ben Granfelt - Guitar, Vocals After having played with numerous groups, critically acclaimed guitarist Ben Granfelt formed his own band in 1993. Ever since the Ben Granfelt Band was formed, the trio has toured in Finland several times and done countless clinics and club gigs. Ben is accompanied by top session drummer Miri Miettinen and bass player Lauri Porra. Alongside of Ben Granfelt Band, Ben's most prominent bands include. . .
Gringos Locos (1986-1991), which released 3 albums.: Ben joined the Leningrad Cowboys hullabaloo Rock 'n' Roll journey in 1991 and stayed until 1996. With the cowboys and he played all around the planet in over 20 countries including Japan and Australia as well as the 1994 MTV Awards gala in New York. He appears on five of the Leningrad Cowboys albums out on BMG. He was also the co-founder of Guitar Slingers have released 3 albums in Finland on Sony Music and� "Guitar Slingers" (1997) in GAS on RAWK Records, which is a Double-CD of the first two Finish albums + bonustracks On his new c.d. E.G.O (Electric Guitar Oriented) Ben also sings 7 songs. Check out Home, What We Are, or his very - 90ish version of The Wind Cries Mary. E.G.O is without doubt Ben's best work so far with music ranging from driving catchy rock to beautiful melodic instrumentals. It should also be mentioned that Ben wrote and performed the 1997 ice hockey world championship TV theme. This song - Slap Shot - can be found on Ben's third CD "Live". After touring with Wishbone Ash in the UK, Europe and the US in 98-99 Andy Powell signed Ben to his own Label Powerbright (distributed by Voiceprint) trough which E.G.O is released in the EU and US. In the spring 200 Ben was the guest performer at the Wishbone Ash 30th Anniversary Concert at the Shepperd Bush Empire. In June 2000 Ben had a successful tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd in Germany. Ben also has his own radio show on Radio EXTREME 98.9 MHz every second Wednesday.
