Label Biography:
Bear Records, is the imprint founded by Jefferson Starship’s manager Michael Gaiman. The label releases albums by bands associated with Jefferson Starship, including live and studio recordings from Quicksilver Messenger Service and Gary Duncan. Bear Records also releases live albums from Jefferson Starship. The label highlights music made in the last ten to fifteen years coming from the giants of the original West Coast music scene, more specifically San Francisco.
Some of the key releases on the label have been in the “Mick’s Picks” series of live recordings which were from Jefferson Starship. The label has also been responsible for releasing archive live albums from Quicksilver Messenger Service, recorded in the sixties and early seventies.
