Donations are welcome towards the prototype guitar, this will be a great help for dad.  Many people ask how they can help, this would benefit him greatly, if every Manfan could help out.  Please contact me regarding donations.  A prototype has to be made to get the guitar off the ground so we can market it.

1 - Guitar will be as close to it's original condition as possible when bought

2 - Guitar will show minor wear and upgrades made by Micky i.e. Grover Machine Heads

Sad news has reached us here at Voiceprint of the death of drummer Brian Davison.

Brian was famously a founder member of The Nice and was even part of the reformed Nice that toured and recorded a live album in 2002.

Following the demise of The Nice in 1070 Brian formed Every Which Way and also played for a period with Gong. More famously Brian and Lee Jackson formed Refugee with Swiss keyboardist Patrick Moraz.

More recently the debut album from Refugee his post Nice band which featured Lee Jackson and Patrick Moraz was reissued to excellent reviews. A further live Refugee album was also released.

Brian’s former band mate in Refugee Patrick Moraz had this to say about his friend and band mate.

“Brian Davison was not only an extraordinary "musical" drummer; he was also my friend until the end.  During our time together in”Refugee" he was truly my "rock soul-mate".  A gentle and kindred Spirit and a wonderful human being, full of life, with a great sense of humour and always with a good word for everyone!  God Bless you Brian, I will miss you immensely”! With Love Always, Patrick Moraz

Brian died non April 15th in Horns Cross Devon of a brain tumour.

Voiceprint extends their condolences to Brian’s family and friends.

Gordon Giltrap & Raymond Burley - Double Vision In Vision

Double Vision In Vision is a DVD that captures two specially filmed performances of Gordon Giltrap and Raymond Burley. Although both artists have completely different styles they manage to blend both styles together effortlessly in two intimate performances filmed in late 2006 at Stickford Church and Fulston Manor. Having already recorded an album together in 2004 entitled Double Vision the next logical step was to film these two wonderful artists in concert and two specially arranged concerts were set up in late 2006. Both performances feature the two musicians bringing out the best in each other in this rare coupling.

As Gordon Giltrap’s and Raymond Burley’s schedules rarely allow them the opportunity to play together this DVD will be seen as the next best thing to actually experiencing a live concert.

The DVD contains both concerts in full and also an interview feature entitled Meet Ray and Gordon.

Pre orders are now being taken on the dedicated micro website where you can also watch a low resolution sample of the DVD

British film director Tony Palmer was recently congratulated by no lesser person than British film director Ken Russell for his documentary on the British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. The film entitled O Thou Transcendent; The Life Of Ralph Vaughan Williams which received its British broadcast debut on January 1st is now available to buy on DVD from Voiceprint. British film director Ken Russell who worked briefly with Tony in the sixties said about the film:

"The best music documentary I've seen in years - best performers, best music recording, best lighting, best visuals, and made me realise how little I knew about the man".

Acclaimed TV Series Released on DVD

In the early part of the 21st century the music industry earns literally billions of dollars; its influences stretch beyond merely musical art forms and are now an integral part of many different media including Film, Television and now the new Digital and Internet industry.

In the mid-70s, at the suggestion of John Lennon, the celebrated journalist and film director Tony Palmer decided to document the "Story of Popular Music" and set about interviewing and filming all the major players in the industry at that time, past and present. Even in the mid-70s this was seen as a monumental task, but despite the scale of the undertaking, Tony Palmer made a series of films that set the standard to which all subsequent biographers and documentary makers aspired to.

The critically acclaimed All You Need Is Love was broadcast across the world between 1976 and 1981. But since that time, it has neither been repeated nor commercially released on either video or DVD.

Now available for the first time, All you Need Is Love makes its DVD debut as a lavish boxed set which contains all 17 episodes of the series on 5 discs. Contained within those discs IS the 'Story of Popular Music', encompassing Ragtime, Blues, Jazz, Vaudeville, The Musical, Folk, Swing, Country and Western, Rock 'n' Roll and beyond, and includes interviews with some of the major names of the past 50+ years including John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimi Hendrix, Stephen Sondheim, Benny Goodman, Bing Crosby, Mike Oldfield, The Beach Boys, Tina Turner, Sam Phillips, Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, Richard Rodgers, Roy Rogers, Benny Goodman, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Phil Spector, Bill Monroe, Bill Graham, Bill Wyman, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton and many many more.  It has frequently been described as the "definitive music documentary", and is regarded just as highly today as 'cult viewing' as it was over 30 years ago when it was first broadcast.

Voiceprint MD Rob Ayling announced today that he had secured a deal to distribute the Jefferson Starship Live series of recordings that will be released under the title of “Mick’s Picks”. Somewhat similar to the legendary Dick’s Picks releases by fellow San Francisco band The Grateful Dead.  The Jefferson Starship recordings will be sourced from soundboard recordings made by the band over the last thirty plus years. Very few of these recordings have been heard before and will therefore be of huge interest to fans of the band and more generally across the board, rock fans. The series kicks off with four releases, three of which are triple albums.  Watch this space for more details soon!!!!!
