Micky was a founder member of Welsh rock band Man and played on many of the bands key releases between 1968 and 2005. Always highly thought of as a musical band in all parts of the globe and particularly on the West Coast of America the band first formed in 1968 and continued for the first phase of its career until 1976 when the band decided to split up. During this period the band released a great many critically acclaimed albums such as Be Good To Yourself At Least Once A Day, Back Into The Future and Maximum Darkness which also featured John Cipollina from Quicksilver Messenger Service who were a big influence on the Man band. In 1983 however the band reformed and have been a going concern ever since in both a recording and a performing capacity.
Unfortunately Micky had to retire from the band in 2005 due to bad health following a series of brain tumours and has fought a valiant battle against illness over the last few years. Micky has always occupied a very special place in the hearts of the Man fans over the years and he will be sadly missed not just as a top flight musician but also as a friend as he became that to the many fans he met over the years.
More importantly Micky will be missed by his family and friends who were with him and supported him in the last few years.
Micky's son George announced Micky's death on the Manband Forum shortly after his father's death at midday on March 10th.
Voiceprint extends its condolences to Micky's family and friends and of course all the Man fans worldwide.

"Hello everyone, this is the message I hoped I'd never have to write. It is with great sadness that I bring the news that my wonderful father Micky Jones passed away peacefully today at 12 noon. I would like to thank you all for your support through the years, letting dad, his talent and music into your lives. I would also like to thank you all for your support during his illness. Let us celebrate this wonderful life and the fantastic memories he has brought us, I was so proud of him as a father and as a performer. To share a stage with him and be part of that legacy is one of the proudest moments. I will miss him, as I'm sure we all will. God Bless, George Jones"
