“Moments of euphoria like this are as rare as they come.”  ATTRITION. At the Underworld. London. 2007. DSO magazine.Recorded on Attrition’s extensive 25 year anniversary tour of Europe, The USA and Mexico over 2006 – 2007.
“Kill the Buddha!” is a collection of live recordings featuring some of their best known songs spanning over 20 years of the band’s career…With main man Martin Bowes’ electronics and vocals being joined American vocalist Laurie Reade, the line up was complemented by a succession of keyboard & synth players…including Ned Kirby of Stromkern for some of the US shows…Compiled and mastered from direct to stereo recordings taken from the mixing desks by Martin Bowes.
From the opening radio advert to the closing surprise song to Martin,  the album catches Attrition at their rawest and most vulnerable…and the booklet features photos from many of the shows on the tour…
"The distinct scent of incense floated across the room from the burning embers on the tips of the sticks in between Martin Bowes fingers. The operatic female vocalist's melody combined with electronic dance beats created an otherworldly feel. Lights gently bathed both the stage and the members of the band in color.  Attrition gave a powerful, serious, and harmonious performance coupled with memorable visuals and strong, rhythmic beats; an undoubtedly distinctive sound..."  ATTRITION at the Black Sun festival, USA. 2008. Regen magazine.“Melding  operatic soprano voice with apocalyptic whispering against synthesized classical orchestrations, the band appears to be charting new musical territory. Attrition is so far beyond the curve that it might be years before the mainstream catches up." ATTRITION at the Convergence festival, New Orleans.   Offbeat magazine.
