When Steve left Gong in 1975 to pursue a solo career he widened his audience a great deal and over the next seven years with albums such as Fish Rising, "L", Motivation Radio, Green and Open he proved not only to be a critical success but also a commercial success, The last Steve Hillage album was the double album For To Next. After this album Steve changed direction and moved into the ambient and ambient dance field and his project System 7 which is still a huge success. In November 2006 however Steve re formed the Steve Hillage band and performed at the Gong Unconventional fan gathering in Holland. The set was captured for release on DVD. This CD contains the performance captured at the UnCon and also bonus tracks which have never been released before including a rare Gong performance of the Solar Musick Suite which was recorded in 1974. There are also two Steve Hillage band performances in Holland from what would turn out to be Steve's final concerts in 1979 with the Steve Hillage Band This performance was the first Steve Hillage band performance for over thirty years and was enthusiastically received by Steve's massive fan base when released as part of a limited edition package in 2008. Reviews The Steve Hillage fans were in for a real bliss in 2006 when Steve decided to play live with his band at the Gong Family Unconvention at the legendary melkweg in Amsterdam first time in almost 30 years!....
...This Cd and DVD were originally released already in 2008 as a limited edition spindle, but it's really great that they are available again for the joy of all Steve Hillage fans. They both are very warmly recommended!
