Summer 2005 sees the release of the latest Hawkwind album Take Me To Your Leader. Captain Dave Brock ably assisted by long-term crewmembers Alan Davey and Richard Chadwick deliver a fine slice of space rock, which is a genre Hawkwind have been at the head of and indeed are considered the innovators of for the last 35 years.

The album contains 10 tracks including a reworking of the classic track Spirit Of The Age which features television personality Matthew Wright on vocals. This particular song has long been a favourite of Wright's who has been a fan of Hawkwind for many years.

The connection between Wright and the band stems from an appearance Dave Brock made on Matthew's radio programme when Matthew told Dave Brock that he was a huge fan. From that appearance the relationship grew to the point where Dave Brock invited Mathew to appear on the album and sing Spirit Of The Age. The track will also be the lead off single from the album and will be available in two CD formats including previously unreleased material.

Other tracks on the album include Angela Android, which features the vocal talents of Lene Lovich. The tracks Out Here We Are and Digital Nation feature Jez Huggett (Young Musician of the Year) on Saxophone lending a jazz feel to the sound of the album. English Rock legend Arthur Brown features on vocals on two tracks Sun Ray and A Letter To Robert (dedicated to former Hawkwind member the late Robert Calvert).

Keyboards throughout the album are handled by Jason Stuart who has recently been confirmed as a full time member of Hawkwind and the latest to join the crew of one of the longest running and most successful of British Rock bands.

Take Me To Your Leader will be promoted by various festival appearances throughout the summer and a full British tour in December. The single Spirit Of The Age, released 30th August will also build an interest in the album, which should see good sales from the well established and large Hawkwind fan base. Due to the unreleased tracks, the singles will be highly sought after by the large and well-established Hawkwind fan base and provide the perfect companion piece to the album.
