In A Silent Way / It's About That Time (MPEG video) First in a series of recordings at Lincoln Cathedral features the fantastic violinist Ric Sanders and his band recorded in late September 2002. Ric is renowned for his performances with Soft Machine, The Albion Band and most notably Fairport Convention and on this project he is joined by old Albion Band cohort drummer, Michael Gregory and Vo Fletcher on guitar, also featured as very special guest is Rick Wakeman, who plays on a version of Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing. The set features a second disc with Binaural sound and Digital Total Surround recordings as well as an MPEG video of the band performing Miles Davis's classic In A Silent Way. The Lincoln Cathedral Project series will feature a number of artists recorded live (but with no audience), in this wonderful atmosphere and capturing every nuance of the performance. Planned future releases will be Roger Eno, Rick Wakeman, Gordon Giltrap and Howard Riley whose styles all lend themselves to this unique environment. | |
