J21 is releasing his solo debut Yellow Mind : Blue Mind on 7th September, 2009 on Voiceprint Music. Yellow Mind : Blue Mind features performances by legendary hard rock singer Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, MSG, Alcatrazz), stick player genius Trey Gunn (King Crimson), percussion legend Ed Mann (Frank Zappa) and is produced by Geoff Tyson (one of Joe Satriani’s top students and member of the now defunct cult band T-Ride), who also plays bass and additional guitars throughout the record.

“When I started to plan the recording of Yellow Mind : Blue Mind
I wanted to create an album as diverse as possible. Unlike other guitar players I’ve tried to put together a record where guitar virtuosism is very subtle.” explains J21.  “All the lead guitar parts are very improvised.   My main focus was to avoid standard song structures. It was also a joy to play with some of my favourite musicians, like Graham, Trey or Ed.

Reviews
This Enigmatic Spanish Guitarist's Musc and life is heavy influenced by Frank Zappa...
...This first solo album is predominantly instrumental, with two Bonnet vocals, has variety in its rythms, complexity in its song structures (linked shorter songs songs combined or separated by solo sections), a good range of guitar sounds & styles, and crisp hard edge music.
