The Suicide Shuffle The very first track on this CD is in fact not 'medium rare' but 'incredibly rare'. Once again it was thought that all original source tapes from 'the six wives of Henry VIII' album were long since lost or destroyed, but from nowhere a quarter inch reel of tape emerged containing the original recording of Jane Seymour taken from the St. Giles Church in Cripplegate. This is the tape that was then transferred onto multitrack and then had drums, harpsichord and mini moog added. This is the master virgin recording of that famous piece as it was first recorded. 'Beyond' was a piece of music composed for a Kevin Peek album based upon an electronic version of 'The Planet Suite' and was recorded in Perth, Australia. This is the original master recording mix that was not used on the final production for the album. Another surprising find was 'The Microcosm Suite', which was a suite of music originally written for a computer game, but never released commercially as music. 'Flyin' is a piece of music that was co-written in 1980 for a film that never saw the light of day and the rest are rare live versions of tracks with Chrissie Hammond and Ashley Holt on vocals. Whilst the quality of these vocal tracks is not great, their rarity value almost demand they have a place within this collection. | |
