Network plays that wonderful hybrid of rock and jazz music known as fusion. The main instigator behind Network is drummer Steve Clarke. Steve decided to form Network in the late eighties after playing the rock scene for a number of years. In fact Steve had played with a great many musicians in a great many bands over the years in the rock and heavy metal scene although his first real love was jazz, which he had got from his jazz loving father.

Network has attracted a great many rock and more importantly jazz players over the last fifteen years including such notable jazz and fusion musicians as Jan Hammer, Hugh Hopper, Ted Emmett and Larry Coryell. Building up a reputation second to none Network have also released a number of highly regarded albums in their time together. During all the time the band has been together there has been one constant factor. Steve Clarke. Another long time musician who has also played on almost as many of the Network releases is guitarist Tim Crowther.

Steve has built the reputation of Network up from scratch despite or perhaps in spite of the fashion led market and it is for this reason that Network is still in existence to this day. The band have recorded both in the UK and also in America although the base for Network is in the forty eight track recording studio Steve has built himself over the last ten years.

Network is currently recording a new album that will be released in early 2005 and will feature more guest musicians from the field of jazz and rock. In the meantime Voiceprint have embarked on an extensive reissue campaign of the bands back catalogue.

Refusal To Comply once again features band leader Steve Clarke leading a stripped down version of Network including Algy Ward and Tim Crowther through some solid instrumental playing on tracks such as Immaculate Infusion and The School Cook Who Was Forced To Eat His Own Custard. refusal To Comply is the latest in the ongoing series of re issues to come from Network and this re issue has been re mastered for release.
