Curtis Ohlson is widely regarded as a world class musician, producer, and composer who continues to amaze within the Jazz, R n B and funk genre although not bound by a specific genre.
Curtis first came to prominence by touring for years as the bass player for music legends Ray Charles and Buddy Rich. Curtis then went on to work with numerous successful Artists including: Branford Marsalis, Sheila E., George Duke, Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), Pebo Bryson, Pee Wee Ellis & Fred Wesley (James Brown Horns), Pete Escovedo, and many others.
In 1987 Curtis recorded his debut album So Fast which included performances from the hugely successful and three time Grammy award winner sax player Branford Marsalis on the tracks Half Nelson and You. Vocalist Rosie Gaines (Prince/New Power Generation) also sings on two tracks on the album, You and the title track So Fast. Other tracks include Verbal Abuse, Loveschool and The Johnson Family.
The album was the first album that attracted both the music critics and fans alike and has been unavailable for some time now. This CD reissue will be eagerly anticipated by the loyal and dedicated fan base that Curtis has built up over the last twenty plus years. This reissue of So Fast has been re mastered for this release and also now includes the bonus track This Burg's For You. As a debut album So Fast remains a stylish and highly influential statement from one of music's highly regarded practitioners of the bass guitar.
